Around 12% of the world’s population lives in mountainous regions – and their lives are anything but easy. Mountain dwellers are often among the most vulnerable, their livelihoods threatened by glacier retreat, deforestation, climate change and natural disasters. And yet many wish to continue to live there. Many others are helping them to do just that.
